The pin mill is an efficient ultra-fine grinding equipment. Its core consists of two grinding disks that can rotate at high speed independently (or one rotating and one fixed), with needle-shaped/tooth-shaped components evenly distributed on the disk surfaces. During operation, the two disks generate shearing, impact and grinding forces through relative high-speed movement, which rapidly grind materials to micron or even nanometer size while achieving material dispersion.

How it works

The feeding system delivers materials evenly into the grinding chamber, where the materials are subjected to intense impact from the high-speed rotating grinding rotor disk. Simultaneously, they undergo the combined effects of multiple forces—including friction, shearing, and collision—between the stationary disk and the gear ring, enabling efficient grinding.

Depending on the material properties, the grinding rotor disk and stationary disk can be configured with different structural designs to meet the grinding requirements of various materials.

This equipment finds wide application in industries such as chemicals, inorganic salts, pharmaceuticals, food processing, pigments, dyes, pesticides, battery materials, minerals, and refractory materials.

Performance and features

High-Efficiency Crushing with Strong Power

Adopting a dual-disk structure (either dual-rotating or one rotating and one stationary), the equipment rapidly generates strong shearing, impact, and grinding forces through high-speed relative motion. It significantly shortens the material crushing cycle, with crushing efficiency far exceeding that of traditional equipment, helping to improve overall production capacity.

Uniform Particle Size, Precise Control

By flexibly adjusting core parameters such as the speed difference between the two disks and grinding gap, materials can be accurately crushed to 20-100 microns. The finished product features a narrow and uniform particle size distribution, stably meeting the strict requirements for particle consistency in precision processing scenarios and ensuring product quality stability.

Wide Material Adaptability with Strong Targeting

Mainly suitable for crushing medium-low hardness materials (Mohs hardness ≤ 3), including brittle, heat-sensitive, viscous, and oily materials. It accurately matches the crushing needs of various characteristic materials but is not applicable for high-hardness materials (such as metal ores) or excessively viscous materials.

Integrated Crushing & Dispersing, Reducing Caking

During the crushing process, the needle-shaped/tooth-shaped components perform dual functions: they not only efficiently crush materials but also fully disperse agglomerated fine powder. This effectively reduces finished product caking, improving powder fluidity and usability.

Compact Structure, Convenient Maintenance

With a compact design, the equipment occupies little production space. Core components (grinding disks, needle teeth) are easy to disassemble and assemble. The screen-free design avoids screen clogging issues, making daily cleaning and component replacement simple and reducing maintenance costs.

Flexible Operation, Easy to Master

Key parameters such as rotation speed and feeding rate can be quickly adjusted via the control panel, without complex debugging processes. The operation logic is clear and easy to understand, with low technical requirements for operators—even new users can quickly become proficient, reducing personnel training costs.
